What is the UV Accelerated Aging Chamber?
The UV Accelerated Aging Chamber also known as theUV weathering aging test chamber, is a test equipment that simulates product aging under light conditions, and is specifically designed to simulate long-term outdoor exposure of products. By simulating ultraviolet radiation from the sun, these devices can achieve damage effects that would only occur in months or even years in outdoor environments in a few days or weeks. It can detect whether the product has faded, discolored, brightness decreased, chalked, cracked, blurred, brittle, strength decreased, and oxidized, and restore the damage to the product caused by rain and dew. Through the UV Chamber of BOTO GROUP, we can deeply understand the aging behavior of products under ultraviolet conditions, provide a scientific basis for product design and improvement, and ensure that the product can function stably and durably under various environmental conditions.
UV chamber conduct tests by exposing the sample to be tested to a controlled alternating cycle of sunlight and moisture while increasing the temperature. Usually, ultraviolet fluorescent lamps are used to simulate sunlight, while condensation or spraying are used to simulate the effects of moisture.

Although ultraviolet light (UV) only accounts for 5% of sunlight, it is the main light factor that causes the durability of outdoor products to decrease. In UV aging tests, there are several different types of UV lamps to choose from, and usually, only short-wave UV light needs to be simulated. These UV lamps mainly produce UV light, rather than visible light or infrared light. The main difference between them is that they produce different total UV energy in their respective wavelength ranges, so different types of lamps will lead to different test results. The actual exposure environment can guide which type of UV lamp to choose for testing.
UVA-340 is the best choice for simulating sunlight UV. UVA-340 can excellently simulate the critical short-wave wavelength range in the sunlight spectrum, that is, the spectrum with a wavelength range of 295-360nm. This lamp only produces UV wavelengths that exist in sunlight, effectively simulating the lighting conditions in the actual environment.
UVB-313 is an option for accelerated testing that can quickly produce test results. According to the standard definition of UV Aging Chamber, fluorescent UV lamps that emit less than 2% of the total output light energy below 300nm are usually called UV-A lamps; while fluorescent UV lamps that emit more than 10% of the total output light energy below 300nm are usually called UV-B lamps. UVB-313 can be used for rapid accelerated testing to help quickly obtain test results.
Application areas
In the automotive industry, auto parts need to operate normally under various climate conditions. UV Aging Chamber can simulate the impact of sunlight on auto parts, helping engineers predict the service life and potential problems of products. In the cosmetics industry, the UV chamber are used to evaluate the effects of skin care products and sunscreen products to ensure that consumers are effectively protected during use.
In addition, UV Chamber are also widely used in the construction industry. Building materials, such as glass and paint, need to withstand the test of sun and rain. Through the testing of UV chamber, architects and engineers can more accurately evaluate the weather resistance of materials, thereby improving the quality and safety of buildings.
This chamber not only provide quality assurance for enterprises, but also bring better product experience to consumers. With the continuous development of science and technology, the performance of this chamber is also constantly improving, and its application range will be wider in the future. Jinjian Laboratory will continue to pay attention to and lead the technological development in this field, and provide customers with more comprehensive and efficient testing services.
