The main difference between temperature shock test and temperature cycle test is the different stress load mechanism. The temperature shock test mainly examines the failure caused by creep and fatigue damage, while the temperature cycle mainly examines the failure caused by shear fatigue.
Temperature shock test
The heating/cooling rate is not less than 30℃/minute. The temperature change range is large, and the test severity also increases with the increase of the temperature change rate.
The temperature shock test allows a two-slot test device, and the temperature cycle test uses a single-slot test device. In the two-trough box, the temperature change rate is greater than 50°C/minute.
Causes of temperature shock: drastic temperature changes in manufacturing and repair processes such as reflow soldering, drying, reprocessing, and repair.
Accelerated stress test
Accelerated testing is an accelerated test performed on a test sample using a shorter time than in the actual environment to investigate its failure mechanism. The acceleration of the test is to use the method of increasing stress to cause the test sample to fail in a short period of time, but failure mechanisms caused by other stresses must be avoided.
Temperature cycle test
Temperature cycling is to expose the test sample to a preset alternating high and low temperature test environment. In order to avoid the influence of temperature shock, the temperature change rate during the test must be less than 20°C/minute. At the same time, in order to achieve the effect of creep and fatigue damage, it is recommended that the test temperature cycle is 25℃~100℃, or the cycle test of 0℃~100℃ can also be used according to the use of the product, and the exposure time is 15 minutes each.
