How does The temperature humidity chamber work?

 

1. Heating process of constant temperature and humidity test chamber
The heating in the test chamber is mainly done by high-power resistance wire. Since the heating rate required by the test chamber is relatively large, the heating system of the test chamber is divided into two subsystems: humidification and dehumidification;
2. Cooling process of constant temperature and humidity test chamber
Cooling is refrigeration. The refrigeration methods of the test chamber are mechanical refrigeration and auxiliary liquid nitrogen refrigeration. Mechanical refrigeration uses steam compression refrigeration, which is mainly composed of compressors, condensers, throttling mechanisms and evaporators. If the constant temperature and humidity test chamber is large, the temperature required to be reached is as low as -55℃ or below. Single-stage refrigeration is difficult to meet the requirements, so the refrigeration method of the test chamber generally adopts cascade refrigeration.
3. Humidification process of constant temperature and humidity test chamber
The humidification process of constant temperature and humidity test chamber is actually to increase the partial pressure of water vapor. The initial humidification method is to spray water on the wall of the constant temperature and humidity test chamber, and control the saturation pressure of the water surface by controlling the water temperature. The water on the surface of the chamber wall forms a larger surface, on which water vapor pressure is added to the chamber by diffusion to increase the relative humidity in the test chamber. This method appeared in the 1950s. At that time, the control of humidity was mainly carried out by using a mercury contact conductivity meter for simple switch quantity adjustment, and the control adaptability to the water temperature of the hot water tank with large hysteresis was poor. Therefore, the control transition process was long, which could not meet the needs of alternating humidity and heat for more humidification. More importantly, when spraying the chamber wall, it is inevitable that water droplets will fall on the test sample, causing different degrees of pollution to the test sample.
4. Dehumidification process of constant temperature and humidity test chamber
There are two ways to dehumidify the test chamber: mechanical refrigeration dehumidification and drying dehumidification.
1. The dehumidification principle of mechanical refrigeration dehumidification is to cool the air below the dew point temperature, so that the water vapor greater than the saturated moisture content condenses and precipitates, thereby reducing the humidity.
2. Dryer dehumidification uses an air pump to extract the air in the test chamber and inject dry air, and at the same time send the wet air into a recyclable dryer for drying, and then send it back into the test chamber after drying, and repeat the cycle for dehumidification.
Most constant temperature and humidity test chambers now use the former dehumidification method. The latter dehumidification method requires the addition of a dehumidifier or chemical dehumidification, which can make the dew point temperature reach below 0℃. It is suitable for occasions with special requirements, but the cost is relatively high.
