IP waterproof grade detailed division

The following waterproof grade reference standards IEC60529, GB4208, GB/T10485-2007, DIN40050-9, ISO20653, ISO16750 and other international applicable standards:
1. range
The waterproofing test includes a second companion characteristic number of 1 to 8, that is, the protection grade code is IPX1 to IPX8
2. Various levels of waterproof test content
(1) IPX1
Method Name: Vertical dripping test
Test equipment: drip test equipment and test method
Sample placement: According to the normal working position of the sample placed on the rotating sample table at 1r/min, the distance between the top of the sample and the drip mouth is not more than 200mm
Test conditions: dripping water of 1.0+0.5mm/min; Test duration: 10min
(2)IPX2
Method name: Tilt 15° dripping test
Test equipment: drip test equipment and test method
Sample placement: make one of the samples a 15° Angle with the vertical line, and the distance between the top of the sample and the drip port no more than 200mm. After each test of a surface, change another surface for a total of four times.
Test conditions: dripping water of 3.0+0.5mm/min; Duration: 4×2.5min, 10min in total
3) IPX3
Method Name: Rain test
a. Swing tube type water spray test
Test equipment: pendulum tube splash test
Sample placement: Select the appropriate radius of the pendulum tube, so that the height of the sample table is in the position of the pendulum tube diameter, put the sample on the sample table, so that the distance between the top of the sample and the sample nozzle is not more than 200mm, the sample table does not rotate.
Test conditions: The water flow is calculated according to the number of spout holes in the pendulum tube, each hole is 0.07L /min. When water is sprayed, water from the water holes in the 60° arcs on each side of the middle point of the pendulum tube is sprayed to the sample. The test sample is placed in the center of the pendulum tube semicircle. The pendulum tube swings 60° on each side of the vertical line, for a total of 120°. Each swing (2×120°) is about 4s.
Test pressure: 400kPa; Test time: continuous drenching 10min; After 5min of test, the sample was rotated 90°
b. Sprinkler spray test
Test equipment: hand-held water splashing test device,
Sample placement: make the parallel distance between the top of the test and the nozzle of the hand-held sprinkler between 300mm and 500mm
Test conditions: A baffle with a balancing weight should be installed during the test, and the water flow should be 10L/min
Test time: 1min per square meter (not including installation area), at least 5 min, calculated according to the surface area of the shell of the sample tested.
(4) IPX4
Method name: splash test;
a. Pendulum tube splash test
Test equipment and sample placement: Select the appropriate radius of the pendulum tube, so that the sample table height is in the pendulum tube diameter position, put the sample on the sample table, so that the distance from the top of the sample to the spray nozzle is not more than 200mm, the sample table does not rotate.
Test conditions: The water flow rate is calculated according to the number of spout holes in the pendulum tube, each hole is 0.07L/min; The spraying area is the spray from the water holes in 90° arcs on each side of the middle point of the pendulum tube to the sample. The test sample is placed in the center of the pendulum tube semicircle. The pendulum tube swings 180° on each side of the vertical line, for a total of about 360°. Each swing (2×360°) is about 12s.
Test time: The same as paragraph a of IPX3 in Article (3) above (i.e. 10 min).
b. Sprinkler splash test
Test equipment: hand-held water splashing test device,
Sample placement: The baffle plate with balancing weight installed on the equipment should be removed, so that the parallel distance between the test top and the nozzle of the hand-held sprinkler is between 300mm and 500mm.
Test conditions: A baffle with a balancing weight should be installed during the test, and the water flow should be 10L/min.
Test time: 1min per square meter (not including installation area) at least 5min according to the surface area of the shell of the sample tested.
(5)IPX4K
Test name: Pressure pendulum tube rain test
Test equipment: pendulum tube rain test
Sample placement: Select the appropriate radius of the pendulum tube, so that the height of the sample table is in the position of the pendulum tube diameter, put the sample on the sample table, so that the distance between the top of the sample and the sample nozzle is not more than 200mm, the sample table does not rotate.
Test conditions: The water flow is calculated according to the number of sprinkler holes in the pendulum tube, each hole is 0.6± 0.5L /min. The spraying area is the spray from the water holes in 90° arcs on each side of the middle point of the pendulum tube to the sample. The test sample is placed in the center of the pendulum tube semicircle. The pendulum tube swings 180° on each side of the vertical line, for a total of about 360°. Each swing (2×360°) is about 12s.
Test pressure: 400kPa
Test time: After 5min of test, the sample was rotated 90°
Note: The spray pipe has 121 holes with a diameter of 0.5mm;

-- 4 rings of outer ring (24 holes per ring, 15 degree distribution);

The spray pipe shall be made of copper zinc alloy (brass).
(6) IPX5
Method name: Water spray test
Test equipment: The inner diameter of the spray nozzle is 6.3mm
Test conditions: the distance between the test sample and the spray nozzle was 2.5~3m, and the water flow was 12.5L/min(750L/h).
Test time: 1min per square meter (not including installation area) and at least 3min according to the surface area of the shell of the sample tested.
(7) IPX6
Method name: intense water spray test;
Test equipment: the inner diameter of the spray nozzle of the nozzle is 12.5mm;
Test conditions: the distance between the test sample and the spray nozzle was 2.5 ~ 3m, and the water flow was 100L/min(6000L/h).
Test time: 1min per square meter (not including installation area) and at least 3min according to the surface area of the shell of the sample tested.
D=6.3mm waterproof protection grade 5 and 6K;
D=12.5mm waterproof protection level 6.
(8) IPX7
Method name: short time immersion test;
Test equipment: immersion tank.
Test conditions: The size should be such that after the sample is put into the water tank, the distance from the bottom of the sample to the water surface is at least 1m. The distance between the top of the sample and the water surface should be at least 0.15m. Test time :30min.
(9) IPX8
Method name: continuous diving test;
Test conditions and time of test equipment: to be agreed by the supply and demand (buyer and seller) parties. It should be harsher than IPX7.
(10) IPX9K
Method name: High-pressure injection test
Test equipment: the inner diameter of the spray nozzle of the nozzle is 12.5mm;
Test conditions: Spray Angle :0°, 30°, 60°, 90°(4 positions); Number of water holes :4; Sample station speed :5 ±1r.p.m. The distance is 100 ~ 150mm, 30 seconds for each position; The flow rate is 14 ~ 16 L/ min, and the spray pressure is 8000 ~
10000kPa and the water temperature is required to be 80±5℃
Test time: 30 seconds for each position ×4, 120 seconds in total.
